Reuben Aniekwu

Senior Climate Research Specialist

Reuben T. Aniekwu serves as Senior Climate Research Specialist for the National Coordination Office. In this role, Reuben supports USGCRP’s Advance Science portfolio by coordinating activities of the Federal Adaptation and Resilience Group, the Interagency Group on Integrative Modeling, and the Integrated Observations Interagency Working Group. He is also a member of the program’s Global Change Information System (GCIS) team.  

In addition to his primary functions, Reuben is keenly interested in interdisciplinary topics related to climate change, such as environmental sustainability, climate adaptation, decision-making under uncertainty (leveraging quantitative and qualitative analyses), and climate-related financial risk management.  

He holds an M.A. from the Environmental Resource Policy Program at George Washington University, with coursework including Systems Engineering, Energy and Climate Policy, and Engineering Economics. He received a B.S. in Geology from the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria.
