Dr. Jennifer Saleem Arrigo
Advance Science Lead
National Coordination Office (NCO)
Dr. Jennifer Saleem Arrigo serves as the Advance Science Lead for the National Coordination Office (NCO). In this role, she works across and with many of USGCRP's Interagency Working Groups and priority task teams, facilitating better coordination and integration of working group activities and organizing activities integrating modeling, observations, and process research that advance our understanding of the integrated natural and human components of the earth system.
Prior to joining USGCRP, Jennifer was a technical specialist with the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), where she worked within NOAA's Climate Program Office for the Climate Monitoring program, which supports development of authoritative climate data records and information products tailored for various researchers and stakeholders. Previously, she served as program manager and then deputy director of CUAHSI, a non-profit university consortium for water research, funded primarily by the US National Science Foundation, that develops community science initiatives and infrastructure to support interdisciplinary water science. During her time with CUAHSI, Jennifer focused on community hydrologic modeling, data services, and water science education and training.
Jennifer also spent five years as an assistant professor of Atmospheric Science at East Carolina University. She holds a Ph.D. in geography from Boston University, where her dissertation research focused on statistical hydroclimatology and land-atmosphere interactions.
