National Coordination Office (NCO)
Dr. Drew Story serves as the Water Cycle Science Lead for the National Coordination Office (NCO). In this role he coordinates the Interagency Integrated Water Cycle Group, leads the U.S.Global Energy and Water cycle EXchanges "GEWEX" Office, and provides science management and input to the broader USGCRP research coordination portfolio.
Prior to joining USGCRP, Drew advised multiple US Senators on energy, environment, and scientific research policy issues, including a year as an AAAS/ACS Congressional Science and Engineering Fellow. During his doctoral research, Drew studied the aggregation mechanisms of engineered nanomaterials with applications ranging from water treatment and environmental protection to the design of cancer therapies. He is formally trained as a science educator and is passionate about maximizing the taxpayers' return on investment in scientific research.
Drew earned a Ph.D. in Chemical & Environmental Engineering with a Designated Emphasis in Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside and a B.S. in Physical Science Education from LeTourneau University.
