Water Cycle Science Lead
National Coordination Office (NCO)
Dr. Drew Story serves as the Water Cycle Science Lead for the National Coordination Office (NCO). In this role he coordinates the Interagency Integrated Water Cycle Group (IWCG), leads the U.S.Global Energy and Water cycle EXchanges (GEWEX) Office, and provides science management and input to the broader USGCRP research coordination portfolio.
Prior to joining USGCRP, Drew managed the energy, environment, and scientific research portfolios for US Senator Jeanne Shaheen. He previously supported similar legislative portfolios in the office of US Senator Chris Coons as an AAAS/ACS Congressional Science and Engineering Fellow. Drew is formally trained as a science educator and is passionate about maximizing the taxpayers' return on investment in scientific research.
Drew earned a Ph.D. in Chemical & Environmental Engineering with a Designated Emphasis in Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside and a B.S. in Physical Science Education from LeTourneau University.
