IPCC Releases Report on Climate Risks & Adaptation

A storm surge barrier in the Netherlands
The new report from Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), released as a near-final draft on Monday, finds that the effects of climate change are already occurring worldwide; that the world, in many cases, is ill-prepared for the associated risks; and that there are opportunities to respond with effective action, though the risks will be difficult to manage with high levels of warming.
