The EPA National Water Program has released an update to its Response to Climate Change Strategy.The original 2008 Strategy included 44 "Key Actions" to be undertaken during 2008 and 2009.

In December 2009, EPA ruled that climate change caused by emissions of greenhouse gases threatens the public's health and the environment. Since that time, EPA has received ten petitions challenging their determination.
