Fourth National Climate Assessment Update: July 2018
Final agency review and comment. Authors have been revising chapters and responding to comments submitted in the final round of review by USGCRP member agencies in May and June. The responses and revisions will be reviewed by the NCA4 Vol. II Federal Steering Committee to ensure all comments have been adequately addressed. Authors continue to finalize graphics and complete the appropriate metadata in an effort to provide an unprecedented level of traceability and transparency for a federal climate assessment through the Global Change Information System.
Public engagement. NCA4 Vol. II has had a presence around the world in recent months. At the Annual Meeting of the American Association of State Climatologists in Nebraska City, Nebraska, a panel of NCA4 contributors described their experience to date and plans for dissemination, while USGCRP NCA4 staff facilitated an assessment-related discussion at the Adaptation Futures meeting in Cape Town, South Africa. NCA4 will also be represented at the Ecological Society of America’s Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, in August and Sigma Xi’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California, in October.
