The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES; www.ipbes.net), an independent intergovernmental body that assesses the state of biodiversity and the ecosystem services biodiversity provides to society, is currently seeking multidisciplinary experts in natural science, social science, policy, and/or indigenous and local knowledge systems to serve as experts for a thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment; initial scoping document here) and a thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (transformative change assessment; initial scoping document here).  IPBES also encourages policy experts and practitioners to apply. The U.S. Government welcomes participation of all government and non-government subject matter experts and encourages individuals with expertise relevant to these assessments to apply.

If interested, please email your CV and a short paragraph (400 words maximum) about your interest in the opportunity and what you hope to contribute to Sarah Weiskopf at [email protected] by August 30, 2021.
