NCA4 Vol I: Climate Science Special Report
The Reports Library features scientific assessments, annual reports, strategic research plans, and other resources produced by USGCRP and the collaborative efforts of our member agencies. Select reports by other authoritative scientific bodies with whom we work, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the National Research Council (NRC), are also accessible here. START, founded in 1992, promotes research-driven capacity building that advances knowledge generation and sharing on global environmental change (GEC) issues, including climate change. This biennial report described START's programs related to cities, agriculture, and adaptation in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
This technical background report serves as the basis for the Global Mercury Assessment 2013: Sources, Emissions, Releases and Environmental Transport (a summary for policymakers). It presents sources of mercury emissions to air and water, with the latest information on atmospheric and aquatic chemistry, fate, and transport.
This report is an educational summary of the Snow, Water, Ice, and Permafrost in the Arctic (SWIPA) assessment.
This Special Report of the IPCC Working Groups I and II explores the social as well as physical dimensions of weather- and climate-related disasters, considering opportunities for managing risks at local to international scales.
This IPCC Working Group III Special Report assesses existing literature on the future potential of renewable energy for the mitigation of climate change. It covers the six most important renewable energy technologies, as well as their integration into present and future energy systems.
AMAP’s assessment of the impacts of climate change on Snow, Water, Ice and Permafrost in the Arctic (SWIPA) brings together the latest scientific knowledge about the changing state of each component of the Arctic cryosphere.
Climate Literacy: The Essential Principles of Climate Science [Spanish version] is an interagency guide that provides a framework and essential principles for formal and informal education about climate change. It presents important information for individuals and communities to understand Earth's climate, impacts of climate change, and approaches for adapting and mitigating change. Principles in the guide can serve as discussion...
This report is the contribution of Working Group II to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report. It is a comprehensive assessment of the current knowledge of the impacts of climate change, the vulnerability of natural and human environments, and the potential for response through adaptation.
This report is the contribution of Working Group III to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report. It includes a detailed assessment of costs and potentials of mitigation technologies and practices, implementation barriers, and policy options for key sectors such as energy and agriculture.
This report synthesizes the contributions of Working Groups I, II, and III to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report, and also draws on recent IPCC Special Reports. It draws together policy-relevant scientific, technical, and socioeconomic information related to climate change, with the goal of assisting governments and other decision makers in formulating and implementing responses.
