The Synthesis Report synthesizes the main findings of the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report, based on contributions from Working Group I (The Physical Science Basis), Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability), and Working Group III (Mitigation of Climate Change), plus two additional IPCC reports.
This IPCC Working Group III Special Report assesses existing literature on the future potential of renewable energy for the mitigation of climate change. It covers the six most important renewable energy technologies, as well as their integration into present and future energy systems.
This report is the contribution of Working Group III to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report. It includes a detailed assessment of costs and potentials of mitigation technologies and practices, implementation barriers, and policy options for key sectors such as energy and agriculture.
