The Working Group I contribution to the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (WGI AR5) provides a comprehensive assessment of the physical science basis of climate change. In addition to the full report, a technical summary and a summary for policymakers are included (a volume including only the summary for policymakers, technical summary, and FAQs is available separately).
This report presents a vision for the Earth science program; an analysis of the existing Earth Observing System and recommendations to help restore its capabilities; an assessment of and recommendations for new observations and missions for the next decade; an examination of and recommendations for effective application of those observations; and an analysis of how best to sustain that observation and applications system.Authored by the National Research Council. Published by the National Academies Press.
This report is the contribution of Working Group III to the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report. It includes a detailed assessment of costs and potentials of mitigation technologies and practices, implementation barriers, and policy options for key sectors such as energy and agriculture. It links sustainable development policies with climate decisions. In addition to the full report, it includes a technical summary, a summary for policymakers, and frequently asked questions.
The Working Group II contribution to the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report considers the vulnerability and exposure of human and natural systems, the observed impacts and future risks of climate change, and the potential for and limits to adaptation. The two-volume report 1) assesses risks and opportunities for societies, economies, and ecosystems around the world, and 2) considers unique features of major world regions. In addition to the full report, a technical summary, summary for policymakers, frequently asked questions, high-resolution graphics, and process information are available.
The 2014 U.S. Climate Action Report fulfills a commitment under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to publish every four years a National Communication that provides a comprehensive report on actions taken to combat climate change and thereby meet the objectives and provisions of the UNFCCC.
This report is the contribution of Working Group I to the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report. It provides insights into the effects of human activity on the atmosphere; contains an evaluation of observed climatic changes using the latest measurement techniques; includes a detailed review of climate change observations and modeling for every continent; and features the first probabilistic evaluation of climate model simulations. In addition to the full report, it includes a technical summary, a summary for policymakers, and frequently asked questions.
This report synthesizes the contributions of Working Groups I, II, and III to the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report, and also draws on recent IPCC Special Reports. It draws together policy-relevant scientific, technical, and socioeconomic information related to climate change, with the goal of assisting governments and other decision makers in formulating and implementing responses. It consists of a summary for policymakers and a longer report.
The Working Group III contribution to the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report provides a comprehensive assessment of all relevant options for mitigating climate change through limiting or preventing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as activities that remove them from the atmosphere. In addition to the full report, a technical summary and a summary for policymakers are included (a volume including only the summary for policymakers is available separately).
