This report presents the results of the 2017 AMAP Assessment of Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic (AACA): Perspectives from the Barents Area. This is one of the three pilot study regions included in the AACA project. AACA is the first AMAP assessment dealing with adaptation actions and how to meet possible Arctic futures in these times of rapid change.

State Climate Summaries

These State Climate Summaries were produced to meet a demand for state-level information in the wake of the Third U.S. National Climate Assessment, released in 2014. The summaries cover assessment topics directly related to NOAA’s mission, specifically historical climate variations and trends, future climate model projections of climate conditions during the 21st century, and past and future conditions of sea level and coastal flooding.

In a workshop on April 20 and 21, 2016, USGCRP's SISCG brought together 20 experts from the federal government, the national laboratories, and academia to tackle the overarching science question: How might the economic character of the United States evolve at time scales ranging from annual to decadal, at spatial scales ranging from national to local, and taking into account the multitude of drivers and stressors that could shape the path, e.g. climate change , demographics, migration, and technology? The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States: A Scientific Assessment
Climate change threatens human health and well-being in the United States. The U.S. Global Change Research Program ( USGCRP ) Climate and Health Assessment has been developed to enhance understanding and inform decisions about this growing threat. This scientific assessment, called for under the President’s Climate Action Plan, is a major report of the sustained National Climate Assessment ( NCA ) process. The report responds to the 1990 Congressional mandate to assist the Nation in understanding, assessing, predicting, and responding to human-induced and natural processes of global change.
