Indicators Interagency Working Group
The Indicators Interagency Working Group (IndIWG) serves to provide an interagency forum for supporting and facilitating the development of a USGCRP indicators effort, leveraging existing operational and research-oriented
The USGCRP indicator effort aims to both highlight agency efforts and data and facilitate the pursuit of research to support the development of indicators as recommended by the agencies.
- A near-term IndIWG priority is to feature relevant Arctic indicators: (1) Changes in Arctic Glacial Mass Balance; (2) Arctic Winter Air Temperature; and (3) Arctic Melt Season. IndIWG has also identified five new indicators to add to the platform, including indicators relevant to USGCRP’s Methane and Water Cycle Extremes priorities
- IndIWG is also collaborating with the Social Sciences Coordinating Committee to identify social science indicators in support of the Fourth National Climate Assessment
