This notice announces the establishment of and invites participation in NCAnet, a network of partners who extend the National Climate Assessment (NCA) process and products to a broad audience of assessment users through the development of assessment-related capacities and products, such as collection and synthesis of data or other technical and scientific information relevant to current and future NCA reports, dissemination of NCA report findings to various users of assessment information, engagement of assessment information producers and users, supporting NCA events, and producing communications materials related to the NCA and NCA report findings. This notice announces the selection of the authors for the report of the next National Climate Assessment by the National Climate Assessment and Development Advisory Committee (NCADAC). The next National Climate Assessment will consist of 30 chapters, each drafted by a set of Convening Lead Authors and Lead Authors. This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda of a forthcoming conference call meeting of the DoC NOAA National Climate Assessment and Development Advisory Committee (NCADAC). The call is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Eastern Time. Public access will be available at the office of the U.S. Global Change Research Program, Conference Room A, Suite 250, 1717 Pennsylvania Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20006.
Please refer to the Web page http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/NCADAC/index.html for the most up-to-date meeting agenda, when available.
The meeting will be open to public participation with a 10-minute public comment period from 3:45-3:55 p.m. The NCADAC expects that public statements presented at its meetings will not be repetitive of previously submitted verbal or written statements. In general, each individual or group making a verbal presentation will be limited to a total time of two minutes. Written comments should be received in the NCADAC DFO's office by Tuesday, April 3, 2012, to provide sufficient time for NCADAC review. Written comments received by the NCADAC DFO after April 3, 2012, will be distributed to the NCADAC, but may not be reviewed prior to the meeting date.

The NCADAC will meet November 16-17, 2011, at the following times: November 16 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and November 17, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. These times are subject to change. Please refer to the Web page http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/NCADAC/index.html for changes and for the most up-to-date meeting agenda.
The meeting will be held at the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory—David Skaggs Research Center (DSRC), 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305-3337. Seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. Members of the public must RSVP in order to attend all or a portion of the meeting by contacting the NCADAC DFO (Cynthia.Decker@noaa.gov) by November 1, 2011.

This notice is an amendment to the request for information (RFI) published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 (76 FR 41217). This RFI sought comments and expressions of interest (EOI) from the public in providing technical inputs and/or offering assessment capacity on topics related to National Climate Assessment (NCA) regional, sectoral, and cross-cutting topics proposed for the 2013 NCA report and the ongoing NCA process. More information on the NCA process, including the strategic plan, proposed report outline, and information about the National Climate Assessment Development and Advisory Committee (NCADAC), can be found at http:// assessment.globalchange.gov. This amendment provides a deadline of October 1, 2011 for EOIs describing anticipated inputs for the 2012 NCA report.
The deadline for EOIs describing anticipated inputs for the 2013 NCA report is October 1, 2011. As described in the RFI, the deadline for subsequent inputs for the 2013 NCA report remains March 1, 2012.

Federal Register Notice: "Technical Inputs and Assessment Capacity On Topics Related to 2013 U.S. National Climate Assessment" pdf | html
NOAA has issued a request for information, inviting the public to provide comments and expressions of interest in offering technical inputs or assessment capacity on topics related to the National Climate Assessment. While federal leadership will continue to play a significant role in the 2013 NCA, the National Climate Assessment Development Advisory Committee (NCADAC) recognizes and calls upon the increasing science capability and expertise across the United States to support its work. The diverse viewpoints of private industry, state and local governments, non-governmental organizations, professional societies, and impacted communities will ultimately contribute to a better informed and more useful NCA report. Expressions of interest are due by October 1, 2011, and final inputs are due by March 1, 2012. Please see the Federal Register Notice for a detailed timeline and more information [pdf | html]. NCADAC Nominations
Through this Federal Register Notice, the Department of Commerce solicits nominations for the NCADAC. Please refer to the Notice for a list of the types of expertise and perspectives sought for the Committee. Please address nominations to FRN@usgcrp.gov. Nominations must be received by 14 days after publication in the Federal Register.
Nominations must include 1) a resume (not to exceed two pages) outlining qualifications, experience, and education of the individual being nominated; and 2) a paragraph describing how the individual will strengthen the ability of the Committee to meet its charge, relative to the charter for the NCADAC and list of expertise requirements included in this Federal Register Notice. The information required for nominations may be included in the body of an email, or as a .pdf, .txt, or MSWord document attached to an email. Do not include any information that might be considered proprietary or confidential. Individuals may self-nominate. Information obtained as a result of this request may be used by the government for program planning on a non-attribution basis.
