As Sectoral Coordinator for the National Climate Assessment, USGS liaison to USGCRP, and Senior Scientist at USGCRP, Susan coordinates many of the sectors and cross-cutting topics in the NCA and the new Indicators Working Group.

Prior to joining the NCA team, Susan worked as the Chief of Staff for the Climate and Land Use Mission Area at USGS Headquarters. At USGS, Susan also worked in the water resources division, managing water quality databases and authoring over 55 annual water resource data reports for all of Texas. She also chaired the Edwards Aquifer Area Expert Science Subcommittee as part of her work with the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program.

A chemical engineer, Susan has done laser research for the Department of Defense and was a project engineer for Exxon. Susan received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and completed graduate coursework in chemical engineering.
