The Program undertook a series of "listening sessions" with a variety of stakeholder groups around the country to gain a better understanding of the emerging needs for climate information and ways in which Federal research might be shaped to meet those needs. The 2009-2010 listening sessions captured our stakeholders’ needs and provided USGCRP with valuable insight to help drive our strategic planning efforts.

We held these sessions at several locations around the country as stand-alone meetings or in conjunction with a professional society conference or sector-related meetings. 

At these listening sessions, representatives from USCGRP provided a short overview of the current program’s structure and activities, including the development of the strategic plan, and then opened the floor for discussion and comments about Federal climate change research. At each session, USGCRP also encouraged participants to continue to provide comments and input about USGCRP activities beyond the listening session.
