The Climate
Education Interagency Working Group (EdIWG) at the USGCRP was formed to coordinate an integrated national approach to all
forms of climate change and related topics education. This Interagency Working Group consists of senior staff members of
the USGCRP member agencies and related agencies who have climate and climate
change education programs or a related mission. Their primary responsibility is
to;
• to serve as a forum in the
USGCRP for the development of a national climate and climate change education
strategy for USGCRP member agency and related agencies education activities,
• to coordinate those
activities across the member groups and priorities and
• make recommendations to
agency management on all aspects of USGCRP member and related agency climate,
climate change and related educational activities.
The purpose of
the Education Interagency Working Group is to promote synergy between the agency education activities. Further the Working Group is developing
a coordinated and cohesive climate and climate change education implementation
strategy that is implemented at individual agencies, while working cross
multiple agencies where possible.
