DOS: Call for U.S. Nominations of U.S. Experts of an IPCC Special Report
Callfor Nominations of U.S. experts to serve as Authors and/or ReviewEditors of the IPCC Special Report Managing the Risks of ExtremeEvents and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation 16 June 2009
Atthe IPCCs most recent plenary meeting on 21-23 April, governmentsapproved the production of a Special Report on Managing the Risks ofExtreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation." Under IPCC procedures, member governments have an opportunity toprovide nominations for authors to be involved in the production ofeach chapter in the report.
Thesubject report will require the contributions of experts who canintegrate the findings of the climate change science; vulnerability,impacts, and adaptation to extreme events; and disaster risk managementcommunities. Nominees should have extensive expertise pertinent to thesubject matter covered, and will generally be recognized in their fieldof expertise.
