Engagement at USGCRP
Through our National Coordination Office and participating agencies, USGCRP engages a broad array of stakeholders and partners to ensure that Federal science is effective in addressing their needs. These engagement activities create pathways for public feedback and dialogue that help to inform the development of our science priorities, guide decision support activities, and enhance assessment processes.
For instance, the National Climate Assessment (NCA) program employs an engagement strategy that leverages science and assessment capacity throughout the United States, while ensuring that the NCA process and products are accessible and useful to stakeholders and the general public. A key part of this strategy is NCAnet, a continually evolving network of organizations working with the NCA program to engage producers and users of assessment information across the country. In addition, USGCRP engages with the scientific community in strategic planning for global change research.
