Samantha Brooks provides Executive Secretariat support to the Subcommittee on Global Change Research (SGCR). She coordinates the activities and priorities of the SGCR and serves as the liaison between the SGCR and the USGCRP National Coordination Office (NCO). Ms. Brooks also works on strategic planning and implementation planning for the NCO. She works with USGCRP leadership and staff to ensure that the USGCRP Strategic Plan and the breadth of related USGCRP priority activities are implemented strategically and in a coordinated interagency manner.
Additionally, she assists in the development of USGCRP’s annual report to Congress, Our Changing Planet, which highlights interagency climate change research and activities conducted throughout USGCRP.
Samantha’s academic background is in international environmental policy with a particular focus on climate change. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from James Madison University and an M.A. in Global Environmental Policy from American University.
