 Sheila O'Brien serves as the Chief of Staff for the National Climate Assessment (NCA). In this role Sheila ensures that NCA activities are conducted on schedule, coordinates with the NCA Technical Support Unit at the National Climatic Data Center, coordinates staff support for the Interagency National Climate Assessment (INCA) Task Force, Federal Advisory Committee, and report authors, and is responsible for high-level communications and documentation of NCA activities and processes. Prior to joining the USGCRP National Coordination Office in 2010, Sheila worked in the property insurance industry as a research analyst at Insight Catastrophe Group, and previously as a lab manager in Marine Environmental Biology at the University of Southern California. She holds a Master in Public Affairs with a concentration in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a Master in Oceanography from the University of Washington.
